How to detect the motor of the radiator fan of the car water tank

The car tank cooling fan is an important component under the hood, which also contributes to the air circulation throughout the cabin. The blower motor is also responsible for diffusing the hot air output from the engine. When the blower motor is not working, your car may have a higher temperature, especially in heavy traffic or in hot weather. You need to make sure your water tank cooling fan is working in good condition to ensure safety.

(1) Check the fuse. Open the engine bay and fuse box of your car. Remove the fan fuse and replace it with a similar rated fuse. Turn on the engine and see if the fan is running. If it is a new fuse, the problem may be a short circuit. Another possible cause of the problem is that the fan motor brush is too dirty.

(2) Eliminate motor mounting. If the fuse is working properly, then make a visual inspection of the motor. Check for any loose wires. If the wires are good, find the jumper and hook of the motor. One wire is connected to the ground and the other wire is connected to the power source. If the motor is not working, you will need to replace it.

(3) Listen to the sound of the sound motor. Essentially, a normal blower motor produces sound. When the normal operation is idle, listen to the sound of the blower motor operation of the car. Since most cars are soundproof, open your window and listen carefully to the sound coming from the engine. If you don't hear the fan running, it may be that the fan is damaged. It can also mean a blown fuse, a bad resistor, or a broken line.

Feel the air flowing out of the vents. If the fuse and motor are performing the proper operation, open the pressure regulator. Feel the vents and check for air. Turn on the air conditioner and check if there is air. If the motor is running but there is no air flowing out, it may be that the motor is blocked.

(4) Check the air flow. You can use a diagnostic tool to check the air flow. This is usually available at rental car stores. In the end, you still need to refer to the repair manual to check the code for errors.

 A defective fan motor will cause your heating and air conditioning system to malfunction. This will cause a lot of discomfort to passengers, especially in extreme weather. Incorporate the testing of the air conditioning system into your car's regular maintenance service schedule.
